Agriculture is an academic discipline of Science that involves the study of various scientific, technical and business subjects related to agriculture, horticulture, farm management, poultry farming, dairy farming, agricultural biotechnology, etc. The scope of a career in Agriculture has grown tremendously in recent times with cutting-edge research and continuous innovation in the industry. With a bachelor’s or master’s degree in agriculture, students can secure high-paid jobs in both government and private sectors. They can be appointed as agricultural research scientists, agriculture officers, production managers, farm managers, and so on. Interested students can also opt for jobs in the fields of teaching, banking, and insurance.

Agriculture courses trains students in agricultural science and its allied areas. The training is all about applying concepts of science, technology, chemistry and biology to boost agricultural productivity. Certificate, vocational, diploma and Bachelor’s Degree courses are UG (undergraduate) level courses. Students who have passed 10th and/or 10+2 are eligible to pursue these courses.

Agriculture  Courses

Students can pursue degree, diploma and certificate agriculture courses at UG, PG and PhD levels. Students can also pursue short-term courses after completing class 10th. Students can study these courses as full-time, part-time, and correspondence/ distance programmes.
Agriculture Eligibility
Students can pursue a course in Agriculture at both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) levels. Given below is generic eligibility criteria for agricultural courses offered at both levels. It may be noted that the eligibility criteria mentioned below might vary depending on the course and specialisation/ branch chosen by a candidate.

UG level: Candidates should clear class 12th in Science stream with at least 45%-50% aggregate marks.

PG level:: Candidates should obtain a bachelor’s degree with at least 45%-50% aggregate marks.
